Generic LJ24A3-10-Z/EX Inductive Proximity Sensor, 2-Wire DC NO, 6–36VDC, 10mm Detection Range, Brass-Nickel Plated Housing, IP65

The LJ24A3-10-Z/EX features a 2-wire DC Normally Open (NO) output. In its normal state (no target present), the output switch is open, presenting a high impedance. When a metal target enters the 10mm sensing range, the internal solid-state switch closes, allowing current (up to 200mA) to flow through the two wires, which serve as both power supply and signal path.

This sensor is designed to detect ferrous and non-ferrous metallic objects, such as steel, aluminum, brass, and copper. The exact sensing distance may vary slightly depending on the target material's conductivity and magnetic permeability, with steel typically providing the maximum rated 10mm range. Non-metallic materials like plastic, wood, or glass will not be detected.

Connect the brown wire to the positive DC supply voltage (6-36VDC) and the blue wire to the negative/common ground. The load (e.g., a PLC input, relay coil, or indicator) is placed in series between the blue wire and ground. Ensure the metal sensing face is oriented toward the target path and maintain a minimum clearance from surrounding metal objects as specified to avoid false triggering.

The IP65 rating indicates the sensor is dust-tight (IP6X) and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction (IPX5). This makes it suitable for use in industrial environments where exposure to dust, dirt, or occasional washdowns with water is expected. It is not suitable for prolonged immersion or high-pressure, high-temperature cleaning.
