The KK2.1 flight controller is a foundational board for DIY multi-rotor builds, offering direct user interaction through its onboard LCD and button interface. Its core processing is handled by an Atmel Mega644PA AVR microcontroller, paired with an InvenSense MPU-6050 MEMS sensor for precise attitude and motion tracking. This combination provides reliable manual rate mode flight as well as an auto-level (angle mode) function for stabilized hovering.
Designed for simplicity and hands-on tuning, the board eliminates the need for a PC for basic configuration. Its firmware supports an extensive list of airframe types, from standard quadcopters and hexacopters to more exotic custom mixes, making it a versatile choice for experimental and educational drone projects. The board requires a clean 5V supply, typically provided by a BEC from an ESC or a separate voltage regulator.
