The MPX5999D from NXP Semiconductors utilizes a monolithic silicon piezoresistive sensing element fabricated using MEMS technology. Applied differential pressure causes a deflection in the micromachined diaphragm, resulting in a proportional change in the resistance of the implanted piezoresistors arranged in a Wheatstone bridge configuration. This change is conditioned by on-chip circuitry to produce a ratiometric analog voltage output.
Designed for durability, the sensor operates across an extended industrial temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for demanding applications in automotive, industrial automation, and fluid power systems. Its compact package and analog interface simplify integration into existing measurement and control architectures.
