Hi-Link HLK-LD2410C-P SMD 22x16mm Sensor Module - 24GHz Radar Human Presence Detection

The LD2410C uses 24GHz FMCW radar technology, which can detect both moving and completely stationary human presence through micro-motions like breathing, whereas standard PIR sensors only detect movement through changes in infrared heat. The radar module also provides distance information and is less affected by environmental factors like temperature and light.

The module is configured via its UART interface or an optional Bluetooth adapter using Hi-Link's visual configuration tool. You can define multiple distance zones (up to 5 meters), set independent sensitivity levels for each zone to filter interference, and adjust the delay time before reporting an 'unoccupied' state to suit your application.

The HLK-LD2410C-P is compatible with any microcontroller or single-board computer featuring a UART (serial) interface, including Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, and STM32. The simple ASCII-based protocol allows for easy integration, and the module operates on a common 3.3V or 5V logic level.

While 24GHz radar signals can penetrate certain non-metallic materials like thin plastic, drywall, or glass with some attenuation, the module is designed and calibrated for open-air, line-of-sight indoor applications. Detection through solid walls is not reliable and is not the intended use case for this product.
