SOUSHINE FSR402 Short Tail Force Sensing Resistor (20g-10Kg) - 14.7mm Active Area, IP65
The SOUSHINE FSR402 is a compact, short-tail force sensing resistor (FSR) utilizing piezoresistive polymer thick film (PTF) technology, providing a variable resistance output inversely proportional to applied force. This single-zone sensor is designed for integration into electronic control systems, robotics, and instrumentation requiring precise touch or pressure detection from 20g to 10Kg.
Features
- Piezoresistive PTF sensor with 12.7mm active area for accurate force-to-resistance mapping.
- Wide sensing range from a light 20 grams up to a substantial 10 kilograms.
- IP65-rated enclosure provides dust-tight protection and resistance to low-pressure water jets.
- Flexible PET substrate enables conformal mounting on curved or dynamic surfaces.
- Simple two-wire interface (shunt resistor) for straightforward voltage divider integration.

The FSR402 operates on the principle of piezoresistivity, where a polymer thick film exhibits a decrease in electrical resistance as mechanical force is applied to its 12.7mm diameter active sensing area. This analog resistance change can be easily converted to a voltage signal using a simple external pull-up resistor, making it compatible with microcontroller ADCs on platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32.
Constructed with a durable PET film base and featuring an IP65 environmental seal, the sensor is robust enough for use in automotive electronics, medical devices, and industrial robotics where reliability under varying conditions is critical. Its thin, flexible form factor allows for seamless integration into control panels, grips, and wearable devices.
