Description
The Waveshare Sense HAT (B) is a versatile expansion board meticulously engineered for the Raspberry Pi, integrating a robust suite of sensors onto a compact form factor. It includes a high-precision 9-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) featuring the ICM20948, which combines a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, and 3-axis magnetometer. This empowers your Raspberry Pi with advanced capabilities for detecting movement, orientation, and magnetic fields, making it an essential component for robotics, drone projects, and navigation systems.
Beyond motion sensing, the Sense HAT (B) excels in environmental data collection. It incorporates an SHTC3 digital temperature and humidity sensor and an LPS22HB barometric pressure sensor, allowing for accurate real-time monitoring of ambient conditions. Additionally, the TCS34725 color sensor enables the identification of nearby object colors, expanding its utility into various object detection and sorting applications. An integrated ADS1015 12-bit ADC provides four channels for easily adding more external analog sensors, ensuring future expandability.
Designed for ease of use, the Sense HAT (B) communicates with the Raspberry Pi via the I2C interface and comes with a dedicated Python library for rapid development. Its standard 40PIN GPIO extension header ensures compatibility across the Raspberry Pi series. Whether you’re building a robot, an IoT environmental station, or an educational platform, this HAT provides the core sensing functionalities required for complex and innovative projects.
