Description
The Waveshare Raspberry Pi Camera (G) integrates a 5-megapixel OV5647 CMOS sensor with a specialized fisheye lens, engineered for Raspberry Pi-based computer vision. This module delivers a 160-degree horizontal field of view, dramatically expanding the visual capture area compared to standard lenses. It is ideal for applications requiring panoramic monitoring, immersive virtual reality, or spatial awareness.
Designed for seamless integration, the camera connects via a 15-pin flat flex cable (FFC) to the Raspberry Pi’s CSI-2 port. It operates on a 3.3V supply, aligning with the Pi’s GPIO power specifications. The module supports both the traditional Raspicam driver and the modern, open-source libcamera stack, offering developers flexibility in software implementation for image processing pipelines and third-party driver development.
