The Waveshare MQ-7 module utilizes a semiconductor gas sensor element sensitive to carbon monoxide. The sensor’s conductivity changes with the concentration of CO in the ambient air, which is converted into an analog output voltage. This allows for direct interfacing with microcontroller ADCs for precise concentration measurement.
Designed for reliable operation in environments with relative humidity up to 95% RH, the module includes a simple interface with power, ground, analog output, and digital output pins. The onboard potentiometer allows for sensitivity adjustment of the digital output trigger point, making it suitable for alarm applications.
