Raspberry Pi 16mm Telephoto Lens for HQ Camera

This 16mm telephoto lens is specifically designed for the Raspberry Pi High Quality Camera. It connects via a standard C-mount and includes a C-CS adapter for seamless integration. It is not directly compatible with the standard Raspberry Pi Camera Modules (v1, v2, v3) without additional adapters or modifications.

The F1.4 to F16 aperture range indicates the lens's ability to control light intake and depth of field. F1.4 allows maximum light, ideal for low-light conditions and creating shallow depth of field (bokeh). F16 minimizes light and increases depth of field, keeping more of the scene in focus for sharper landscapes.

While primarily a telephoto lens for distant subjects, its minimum object distance (MOD) of 0.2m allows for relatively close focusing compared to some longer telephotos. However, for true macro photography, dedicated macro lenses or extension tubes would generally provide superior magnification and working distances for intricate close-up shots.

This lens features independent manual rings for both focus and aperture. To adjust, simply rotate the knurled metal rings on the lens barrel until the desired focus and exposure are achieved. This provides precise control over your image, especially useful in challenging lighting or for specific artistic contexts.
