The J-58B (SG) Servo Mount Encoder is engineered for integration into machine tool spindles and other high-precision rotary motion systems. Its robust 58mm diameter die-cast aluminum housing provides mechanical stability and protection against oil, coolant, and particulate ingress, with IP65 sealing on the shaft side and IP50 on the cable side.
Internally, it utilizes a shatter-proof polycarbonate code disk and an LED light source with power compensation to maintain signal integrity across its extended operating temperature range of -10°C to +70°C (IP65) or -20°C to +100°C (IP50). The ASIC-based electrical design ensures reliable operation and includes surge protection on the supply lines, while the output stage is optimized for driving signals over long cable distances typical in industrial installations.
