The Pixhawk 4 represents a significant evolution in open-source flight control hardware, developed jointly by Holybro and the PX4 Autopilot team. Its core is the powerful STM32F765 microcontroller, which delivers over double the computational power and RAM of previous generations, enabling the execution of complex autonomous navigation algorithms and high-rate data logging directly to the onboard microSD card.
Engineered for robustness in demanding environments, the controller features a suite of high-stability sensors from Bosch and InvenSense, including the ICM-20689 and BMI055 IMUs. The dedicated vibration isolation system mechanically decouples these sensors from frame harmonics, ensuring clean data for precise attitude estimation and control, critical for heavy-lift and mapping platforms.
