This PPM encoder module serves as a critical interface bridge in UAV control systems. This consolidation reduces wiring complexity from multiple signal lines down to one primary data line, plus power and ground.
The module features a critical safety component in the JP1 Jumper, which manages power source isolation. When the receiver and servos are powered separately from the autopilot, removing this Jumper is mandatory to prevent back-feeding and potential damage to the flight controller’s onboard 5V regulator. The unit arrives pre-flashed with firmware for 8-channel operation, though it remains reprogrammable via an AVR ISP programmer for users needing to invert the PPM signal or adjust fail-safe values.
