The SN04-N operates on the inductive sensing principle, generating an electromagnetic field to detect the presence of metallic targets without physical contact. Its internal oscillator and signal conditioning circuitry provide a stable NPN open-collector output that sinks current to ground when an object is detected, making it suitable for direct connection to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and 24V industrial control systems.
Encased in an ABS plastic housing with an IP67 protection rating, the sensor is resistant to dust, water, and oil ingress, ensuring reliable performance in challenging factory floor conditions. A built-in red LED provides visual feedback for power status and target detection, aiding in installation and troubleshooting.
