The BME688 module is a highly integrated environmental sensing solution based on Bosch Sensortec’s MEMS technology. It combines a calibrated gas sensor with metal-oxide (MOX) technology for detecting a wide range of volatile organic compounds and gases at parts-per-billion sensitivity, alongside precise Bosch MEMS sensors for temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. The integrated AI capabilities allow the sensor to be trained for specific gas profiles and environmental contexts using the dedicated BME AI-Studio software suite.
Designed for ultra-low power operation, the module is suited for always-on applications in smart home devices, wearable health monitors, and portable environmental data loggers. The digital output ensures stable readings with minimal signal conditioning required, providing a robust sensor platform for developers and engineers focused on air quality monitoring and contextual awareness.
