The A3144 is a bipolar Hall-effect switch integrated into a compact module. It operates on the principle of the Hall effect, where a voltage difference is generated across a conductor when a magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the current flow. This module conditions the raw sensor signal to provide a clean digital output, making it ideal for direct connection to digital input pins on microcontrollers and logic circuits.
When no magnetic field of sufficient strength is present, the module’s output signal line remains in a HIGH logic state (typically near the supply voltage). Upon detection of either pole of a magnet, the output switches to a LOW logic state, and an onboard LED illuminates for visual confirmation. This behavior makes it suitable for precise, non-contact switching applications in various environments.
