HaiWang HW-XC508 Microwave Radar Sensor Module, 0.5m-12m Range, 5.8GHz, TTL Output, 12V DC
The HaiWang HW-XC508 is a 5.8GHz microwave Doppler radar motion sensor module designed for security, automation, and lighting control systems. It features an adjustable detection range of 0.5 to 12 meters, a configurable hold time from 2 to 120 seconds, and provides a TTL-level output signal compatible with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and industrial PLCs.
Features
- 5.8GHz ± 100MHz Doppler radar for precise motion detection.
- Wide adjustable sensing range from 0.5 meters up to 12 meters.
- Configurable output hold time (2s to 120s) via onboard potentiometer.
- Low-power operation at 12V DC with less than 20mA current draw.
- TTL-level output (5V high, 0V low) for direct microcontroller interfacing.

The HW-XC508 operates on the Doppler radar principle, emitting a continuous 5.8GHz microwave signal. Any movement within its adjustable detection cone causes a shift in the reflected signal’s frequency, which the module’s internal circuitry processes to trigger a TTL output. This method allows for reliable motion detection through most non-metallic materials like drywall, glass, and plastic.
Designed for low-power, continuous operation, the module is suitable for integration into battery-backed or mains-powered systems. Its adjustable sensing parameters provide flexibility for applications ranging from short-range indoor presence detection to longer-range perimeter monitoring in outdoor or industrial environments.
