The YF-S402B flow sensor operates on a turbine principle, where liquid flow spins an internal rotor equipped with a magnet. A Hall-effect sensor detects each rotation, generating a digital pulse signal. The frequency of this pulse train is linearly proportional to the volumetric flow rate, providing a straightforward digital interface for flow measurement without requiring analog-to-digital conversion.
Constructed with a stainless steel shaft and sealed housing, the sensor is designed for reliability in continuous water flow monitoring applications. It operates within a temperature range of 0 to 80°C and can withstand water pressures up to 0.8 MPa, making it suitable for various liquid handling systems. The low 15mA current draw ensures minimal power consumption in battery-powered or low-energy designs.
