Winsen MC119 Catalytic Flammable Gas Sensor Module - Metal Mesh Encapsulation
The Winsen MC119 is a catalytic combustion gas sensor module designed for detecting a wide range of flammable gases including hydrogen, ethylene, gasoline, and VOCs. It operates on a 2.5V DC supply and provides a linear bridge output signal suitable for integration into industrial safety systems, portable detectors, and embedded monitoring applications.
Features
- Catalytic combustion principle for detecting hydrogen, ethylene, gasoline, and VOCs.
- Operates at a precise 2.5V ±0.1V DC working voltage with low power consumption.
- Metal encapsulation with metallurgy powder mesh for durability and stable performance.
- Linear bridge output with quick response (≤10s) and excellent repeatability.
- Wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +70°C with high humidity tolerance.

The Winsen MC119 sensor utilizes a catalytic combustion principle where a heated catalytic bead (test element) oxidizes combustible gases, causing a change in its resistance. This change unbalances a Wheatstone bridge circuit that includes a temperature-compensating reference element, producing an output voltage directly proportional to gas concentration. The compensated design ensures stability against environmental variations in temperature and humidity.
Engineered for industrial safety and leak detection, the module offers a linear response across its 0-100% LEL measurement range with minimal cross-sensitivity to common interferents like H2S and organosilicon compounds. Its robust metal housing protects the internal elements, ensuring a long operational lifespan in demanding environments.
