The Waveshare ESP32-S3 AI Smart Speaker Development Board integrates the Espressif ESP32-S3R8 dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor, capable of running at up to 240 MHz, providing the computational power necessary for real-time audio processing and AI-driven speech recognition tasks. Its integrated 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 (LE) enable seamless connectivity for IoT deployments, from smart home hubs to interactive voice interfaces.

Onboard audio hardware includes a dual digital microphone array paired with the ES7210 ADC for high-fidelity audio capture and the ES8311 DAC for clear audio playback, featuring advanced noise reduction and echo cancellation algorithms. The board’s power architecture is designed for portable applications, incorporating an MP1605GTF-Z buck regulator delivering 3.3V at 2A and a dedicated charging circuit for 3.7V Li-ion batteries, managed by a physical battery switch.
