Description

This Waveshare 2-Channel Isolated RS485 Expansion HAT is purpose-built to equip Raspberry Pi boards with reliable, high-speed dual-channel RS485 communication capabilities. It integrates the SC16IS752, a dual-channel high-performance UART expansion chip, which communicates with the Raspberry Pi via an SPI interface. Each RS485 channel is managed by an SP3485 transceiver, enabling robust data exchange across industrial networks.

Designed for demanding applications, the HAT incorporates comprehensive protection features including power supply isolation (B0505LS), ADI magnetical isolation (ADUM1412), and TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diodes (SMAJ12CA). These circuits effectively suppress surge voltages, transient spikes, and provide lightning and anti-electrostatic protection, ensuring stable and safe operation.
