The SGP40 VOC sensor from Sensirion integrates a complete gas sensing system onto a single CMOSens® chip. The sensor employs a temperature-controlled micro hotplate and advanced algorithms to deliver a robust VOC index signal, which is automatically compensated for ambient humidity variations from 0% to 90% RH. This eliminates the need for external humidity sensors in many air quality assessment applications.
Housed within a durable stainless steel probe connected via a 1-meter cable, the sensor module is protected for reliable operation in varied environments. The digital I2C output provides a clean, noise-immune signal path, simplifying integration into IoT nodes, smart HVAC controls, and portable air quality monitors. Its low-power operation and SMD-compatible package support high-volume production for consumer and industrial devices.
