Description
The SparkFun Qwiic Pro Micro represents an updated iteration of the popular Pro Micro, maintaining its compact form factor while introducing several enhancements. This board leverages the ATmega32U4 microcontroller, providing full native USB functionality without requiring an external USB-to-serial converter. Key improvements include the integration of a modern USB-C port for reliable connectivity, an on-board reset button for easier development cycles, and a convenient Qwiic connector for streamlined I2C peripheral interfacing. Additionally, the inclusion of castellated pads facilitates its use in more advanced, surface-mount integration scenarios.
Functionally, the Qwiic Pro Micro delivers familiar Arduino-compatible capabilities, operating at 5V and 16MHz. Developers can access nine channels of 10-bit Analog-to-Digital Conversion (ADC), five Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) pins, and 12 general-purpose Digital I/O (DIO) pins, alongside hardware serial (Rx/Tx) connections. An integrated voltage regulator allows the board to accept unregulated input voltages up to 6VDC via the “RAW” pin, ensuring flexibility in power supply options for various embedded applications.
