The 16-Channel I2C PWM Servo Driver Module Shield provides an elegant solution, enabling control over 16 independent PWM channels using only two I2C pins from your main microcontroller.
This module features an I2C-controlled PWM driver with an built-in clock, eliminating the need for continuous signal transmission from your microcontroller. It is 5V compliant, allowing control from 3.3V microcontrollers while safely driving outputs up to 6V. With 6 address select pins, up to 62 of these breakouts can be chained on a single I2C bus, providing a remarkable 992 PWM outputs for large-scale projects. The module delivers adjustable PWM frequency up to 1.6 KHz and 12-bit resolution per output, ensuring highly accurate control for applications like servo positioning.
Designed for ease of use, the breakout board includes a terminal block with reverse polarity protection for robust power input, alongside a power-good LED. It offers 3-pin connectors for direct servo plug-in and incorporates 330-ohm series resistors on all output lines for protection and simplified LED driving. Configurable push-pull or open-drain output modes enhance versatility, making this shield an essential component for projects requiring extensive PWM capabilities.
