Description

The RAK3172 WisBlock LPWAN Module is a core wireless node built around the STM32WLE5CC system-on-chip, which combines an Arm Cortex-M4 microcontroller with a Semtech LoRa transceiver. This integration allows developers to execute application logic and manage long-range, sub-GHz LoRaWAN communication from a single, power-efficient chip. The module is pre-configured for the IN865 frequency plan, making it a ready solution for deployments in India and other regions using this band.

Out of the box, the module runs RAKwireless’s RUI3 firmware, an abstraction layer that simplifies coding by providing a unified set of AT commands and C++ APIs for handling LoRaWAN joins, data transmission, and power management. This significantly reduces development time compared to working directly with the LoRaMAC stack. The WisBlock form factor ensures easy integration; the module plugs directly into compatible WisBlock baseboards, providing immediate access to I2C, SPI, UART, ADC, and GPIO interfaces for connecting sensors and peripherals without complex soldering.
