The Omron E3Z-T61 photoelectric sensor operates on the through-beam principle, where an infrared emitter and a separate receiver detect the interruption of a light beam. This configuration provides the highest reliability and longest sensing distance within the photoelectric sensor family, ideal for detecting objects across conveyor lines or entry/exit points. The built-in amplifier conditions the signal for a clean, digital NPN open-collector output.
Engineered for industrial durability, the sensor features an IP67 enclosure that protects against dust ingress and temporary water immersion. Its wide -40°C to +55°C operational range ensures stable performance in unheated warehouses, refrigeration units, and outdoor applications. The design includes reverse polarity protection and mutual interference prevention circuitry for reliable operation in dense sensor arrays.
