Description

The Nooelec LaNA Wideband Ultra Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA) is a critical front-end component for software-defined radio (SDR) systems and general RF signal chain enhancement. It provides substantial gain across a broad spectrum from 20 MHz to 4 GHz, making it compatible with HF, VHF, UHF, and low-band microwave signals, including cellular, GPS, Wi-Fi, and LoRa frequencies. Its primary function is to amplify extremely weak signals from antennas before they reach the SDR receiver, thereby improving the system’s overall signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and reception range.

Engineered for reliability in field deployments and lab environments, the module incorporates robust protection circuits. It features overvoltage safeguards and is fully ESD-protected to prevent damage from static discharge. The internal EMI shield and metal enclosure effectively block external electromagnetic interference, ensuring signal integrity. With a typical current draw of 50–80 mA, it is efficient for portable or always-on monitoring stations when powered via its bias-tee input (from an SDR like the NESDR SMArt), a microUSB port, or a DC barrel jack.
