Description
The ATMEGA1284P-XPLD Evaluation Kit serves as an excellent platform for early evaluation of the Atmel ATmega1284P megaAVR microcontroller. Designed to showcase the device’s features, this board is also compatible with the ATmega164/324/644 microcontrollers and their ‘A’, ‘P’, and ‘PA’ versions, which share common peripherals differing mainly in memory size and electrical characteristics.
This evaluation kit comes with a rich set of on-board peripherals including one QTouch button sensor, three mechanical buttons, and four LEDs for visual feedback and user input. It further integrates three analog sensors to demonstrate ADC capabilities, alongside a convenient UART to USB bridge for seamless communication with a host PC. Powered directly by the USB cable, the board also features standard AVR Explained expansion headers, providing easy access to both analog and digital I/O pins, and a 10-pin JTAG header for connection to a wide range of AVR debuggers for in-depth development and troubleshooting.
