The M5Stack COM.GPS module is a sophisticated satellite positioning unit built around the u-blox NEO-M8N. This advanced module integrates a 72-channel u-blox M8 GNSS engine, providing support for multiple global navigation satellite systems including BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS, and GPS/QZSS. Its design allows for simultaneous data reception from up to three GNSS systems, significantly enhancing positioning accuracy and reducing acquisition time even with low power consumption. The module is complemented by an active external antenna to ensure robust signal reception.
Featuring programmable FLASH memory, the COM.GPS module supports firmware upgrades via u-center software. It communicates with the M5Core via a configurable UART protocol, allowing adjustment of serial port connection pins through a DIP switch. With industry-leading -167dBm sensitivity and minimal static drift, this compact and high-performance module is ideally suited for a wide range of mobile positioning systems, including drone navigation, vehicle tracking, and handheld device integration.
