Generic Soil Moisture Sensor Module with 1.3M Cable - Analog/Digital Output
This soil moisture sensor module provides both analog and digital outputs for direct integration with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and other 3.3V/5V microcontrollers. It features a corrosion-resistant, waterproof probe on a 1.3-meter cable for reliable soil water content measurement in agricultural and gardening applications.
Features
- Dual analog (AO) and digital (DO) output signals for flexible system integration.
- Waterproof, gold-plated corrosion-resistant probe ensures long-term durability in soil.
- Onboard LM393 comparator and adjustable potentiometer for precise threshold setting.
- Compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic systems (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi).
- Includes 1.3-meter cable for flexible probe placement in pots, beds, or fields.

This sensor operates on the principle of electrical conductivity between its two exposed electrodes. As soil moisture increases, the conductivity between the probes rises, resulting in a higher output signal. The module conditions this raw signal using an LM393 voltage comparator, providing a stable analog voltage (0-5V) proportional to moisture and a digital trigger output when a user-defined threshold is exceeded.
Designed for embedded system integration, the module features a standard 4-pin interface (VCC, GND, AO, DO) and status LEDs for power and digital output. The extended 1.3-meter waterproof cable allows the sensitive probe to be buried while the control electronics remain in a protected enclosure, making it suitable for long-term outdoor deployment in smart irrigation and agricultural monitoring systems.
