This TDS sensor module is engineered for monitoring total dissolved solids in water, a key indicator of purity. It employs a conductivity-based sensing principle where an AC excitation signal is applied to the probe’s electrodes to measure solution conductivity, which is then correlated to TDS concentration. This AC method prevents DC polarization, ensuring long-term measurement stability and extending the probe’s operational lifespan.
The module outputs a linear 0-2.3V analog signal corresponding to the 0-1000 ppm range, making it directly interfaceable with the analog inputs of most microcontrollers and data acquisition systems. Its low operating current of approximately 3 mA makes it suitable for battery-powered monitoring stations. The encapsulated probe is fully submersible, constructed for durable use in various aqueous environments.
