The ESP32-WROOM-32U development module is a core component in the Espressif ecosystem, designed for engineers and makers building connected devices. It integrates the full ESP32 chipset, including 520KB SRAM and 448KB ROM, onto a board-ready module with a U.FL connector for an external antenna, distinguishing it from the PCB antenna variant (WROOM-32D). As a standalone microcontroller unit (MCU), it can run your entire application, or it can operate as a co-processor handling wireless communication via SPI, SDIO, I2C, or UART interfaces to a host system.
