Description

The DJI NAZA-M Lite V1.1 flight controller provides a robust and reliable autopilot solution for multirotor drones, inheriting core stability algorithms from the higher-end NAZA series. Its integrated design combines the main controller, voltage regulator, and GPS/compass module into a cohesive system, simplifying wiring and saving crucial space and weight in the airframe. This unit is engineered for straightforward setup via the DJI Assistant software on Windows.

Equipped with a 3-axis gyroscope, accelerometer, and barometer, the controller delivers precise altitude hold and attitude stabilization. The included GPS module enables accurate position holding, a feature once reserved for more premium controllers. The system also offers outputs for a 2-axis servo gimbal, allowing for basic camera stabilization, though it is not compatible with DJI’s brushless Zenmuse gimbals.

Key Features

  • Advanced attitude stabilization algorithm for smooth and predictable flight characteristics.
  • Multiple supported multirotor types: Quad-rotor I4, X4; CubePilot-rotor I6, X6, IY6, Y6.
  • Integrated failsafe with configurable low-voltage protection and motor arm/disarm safety.
  • Supports Futaba S-Bus and standard PPM receivers for flexible radio system integration.
  • Built-in gimbal stabilization function with dedicated servo outputs for camera control.
  • Remote adjustment capability via transmitter for in-flight parameter tuning.
  • High-reliability design with an operating temperature range of -10°C to 50°C.

Applications

  • Aerial photography and videography platforms requiring stable GPS position hold and altitude lock.
  • Entry-level and intermediate multirotor builds, including quadcopters (I4, X4) and hexacopters (I6, X6, Y6).
  • FPV and line-of-sight flying platforms where reliable failsafe and Return-to-Home features are critical for safety.
  • DIY drone projects needing an all-in-one flight control solution with integrated power management and GPS.

Frequently Asked Questions

What multirotor configurations does the NAZA-M Lite V1.1 support?

The NAZA-M Lite V1.1 supports a range of standard multirotor frame types. This includes quadcopters in both I4 and X4 configurations, as well as hexacopters in I6, X6, and Y6 layouts. The assistant software provides specific wiring diagrams and motor output mappings for each supported type.

What is Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC) and how do I use it?

Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC) allows the pilot to fly the aircraft relative to a locked 'course' direction, independent of which way the nose is pointing. This means forward stick input will always move the craft away from the pilot, simplifying orientation, especially at long range or during complex maneuvers. It is activated and configured through the DJI Assistant software.

Can I set up a Return-to-Home (RTH) failsafe with this controller?

Yes, the integrated GPS module enables a Return-to-Home (RTH) function as part of the failsafe system. If the radio link is lost, the controller can be configured to automatically engage RTH, guiding the aircraft back to its recorded home point. This requires proper setup in the DJI Assistant software and a transmitter that supports failsafe signal output.

What is the input voltage range, and what batteries are compatible?

The main controller (MC) requires 4.8V-5.5V, supplied by the included Voltage Regulator (VU). The VU accepts a wide input range of 7.2V to 26.0V, which corresponds to 2S, 3S, 4S, 5S, and 6S LiPo battery packs. DJI recommends using 2S to 6S LiPo batteries for optimal performance and power system safety.
