Generic E3F-DS30Y2 / RF18-30A2 Photoelectric Sensor NC, AC 90–250V, 200mA, Detection Range 5–30 cm

This sensor provides a solid-state NPN output configured as Normally Closed (NC). When the infrared beam between the emitter and receiver is uninterrupted, the output circuit is closed. When an object breaks the beam, the output opens, signaling a detection event. This fail-safe logic is common in industrial safety and counting applications.

The sensor operates on a wide-range AC voltage from 90 to 250 volts. It draws power directly from standard industrial AC lines and can supply a load current of up to 200mA. No separate DC power supply or signal conditioner is required for basic operation.

Installation involves mounting the emitter and receiver units opposite each other, aligned within their 5 to 30 cm operational range. The sensing distance is not electronically adjustable via a potentiometer; it is fixed by the physical alignment. For optimal performance, ensure the beam path is clear of obstructions and ambient light interference.

The NPN output can directly drive loads such as PLC digital inputs, relay coils, counters, or indicator lamps within its 200mA maximum current rating. Ensure the connected load is compatible with the sensor's AC supply reference and the NC switching logic for proper system integration.
