Pro-Range XKC-Y26NPN DC 24V Non-Contact Liquid Level Sensor

This sensor is specifically designed for non-metallic containers such as plastic (PP, PVC, PE), glass, ceramic, and rubber. It cannot detect liquid levels through metal walls due to the shielding effect on the capacitive field. The container wall thickness and material dielectric constant affect the sensing range and require sensitivity adjustment.

Connect the brown wire to your positive DC supply voltage (5-24V), the blue wire to ground (0V), and the black wire is the NPN output. The NPN output acts as an open-collector switch to ground. You must connect a pull-up resistor (typically 1-10kΩ) between the black wire and your positive logic voltage to read a clean HIGH/LOW signal with a microcontroller or PLC digital input.

Yes, it can detect a wide range of liquids including water, oils, chemicals, acids, and alkalis, as long as they are contained within a compatible non-metallic vessel. The sensor's response is based on the dielectric constant change. Highly conductive liquids or those with very low dielectric constants may require specific sensitivity calibration for reliable detection.
