The BME688 is a fourth-generation environmental sensor that combines Bosch Sensortec’s proven MEMS technology with an AI-configurable gas scanner. Its integrated sensing element provides calibrated digital outputs for barometric pressure, relative humidity, ambient temperature, and a wide range of indoor air quality gases including volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs). The sensor’s metal lid LGA package ensures robust mechanical protection and stable thermal performance.
Designed for battery-powered IoT and smart home devices, the BME688 operates from a 1.71V to 3.6V supply and features multiple ultra-low-power modes. The integrated AI functionality, configurable via the BME AI-Studio tool, allows the gas scanner’s sensitivity, selectivity, and power profile to be trained for specific application scenarios, enabling predictive maintenance and advanced environmental monitoring.
