Description
The GSM SIM800C Modem is a robust cellular communication module built around the industrial-grade SIM800C chipset from SIMCom. It provides a complete RS232 interface solution with an onboard MAX3232 transceiver, allowing direct connection to computers, microcontrollers, or RS232-compatible industrial equipment without additional hardware. The module’s wide input voltage range (5-12V DC) is managed by a high-current LDO regulator capable of handling the surge currents required during GSM transmission bursts.
Engineered for continuous operation in harsh environments, the modem supports the full suite of GSM phase 2/2+ features, including GPRS multi-slot class 12/10 for data transfer. Its configurable baud rate (9600-115200) and comprehensive AT command set (3GPP TS 27.007/27.005 and SIMCom enhanced) offer precise control for SMS, voice calls, and TCP/IP data sessions. The inclusion of an SMA connector with a stub antenna ensures immediate RF deployment, while the FR4-grade PCB guarantees long-term reliability for embedded IoT and M2M systems.
