The Pimoroni LiPo/LiIon SHIM provides essential battery power and charging capabilities for your Raspberry Pi Pico projects. Its inbuilt charging circuit allows for convenient recharging of an attached battery simply by supplying power to the Pico via its USB port, making it ideal for portable or remote applications. The SHIM also integrates robust protection features, safeguarding against over-discharge and overcurrent conditions to prolong battery life and ensure safe operation.
For enhanced user control, the board includes a dedicated power button, enabling users to easily toggle battery power to their projects without disconnecting cables. This functionality is complemented by two distinct LED indicators: a white LED signals when the SHIM is actively providing power, while a red LED illuminates to indicate that the battery is currently undergoing charging. This intuitive feedback system ensures users are always aware of their power status.
