The X-NUCLEO-6283A1 expansion board serves as a complete evaluation platform for the STMicroelectronics VD6283, a compact 6-channel ambient light sensor. This board facilitates the learning, evaluation, and development of applications requiring accurate color sensing and advanced light flicker detection. The VD6283 measures light swiftly and precisely across six channels—Red, Green, Blue, IR, Clear, and Visible—each with its own dedicated ADC and readout circuitry.

Utilizing hybrid color filters with precise spectral responses, the VD6283 accurately computes correlated color temperature (CCT) and Lux information, making it ideal for display brightness management or dynamic scene light correction. Additionally, the sensor excels at extracting light flickering frequencies ranging from 100 Hz to 2 kHz, including LED square signals, critical for various lighting and display applications.
