Description
The Waveshare Nano Base Board (B) is a compact, purpose-built carrier board designed to unlock the full potential of the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4). Recognizing that the CM4 is a powerful, stripped-down system-on-module lacking direct I/O, this base board provides all the necessary connections to transform it into a functional development platform or an embedded solution. It serves as a crucial interface, enabling developers and makers to easily integrate the CM4 into a wide range of projects without the complexity of custom PCB design.
This carrier board exposes a comprehensive set of peripherals critical for modern embedded applications. Users gain access to a standard Raspberry Pi 40-pin GPIO header for expansion, a USB 2.0 Type A port for peripherals, and a Mini HDMI port capable of 4K@30fps video output. High-speed networking is facilitated by a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 connector. Furthermore, dedicated MIPI CSI-2 camera and MIPI DSI display interfaces enable multimedia-rich applications, making it suitable for HMI, vision, and display projects.
Designed with practicality in mind, the Nano Base Board (B) matches the small form factor of the Compute Module 4 itself, ensuring a neat and integrated build. It incorporates a Micro SD card socket, which is essential for CM4 Lite variants that do not feature onboard eMMC storage, allowing for flexible operating system deployment. With its robust feature set and compact design, this base board streamlines the development process for CM4-based systems, from prototyping to final product integration.
