Description

The Waveshare IMX219-160 camera module integrates a Sony IMX219 8-megapixel sensor into a compact form factor tailored for embedded AI and machine vision systems. Its 1/4-inch sensor and wide 162.4° diagonal field of view provide ample scene coverage for applications ranging from facial recognition to autonomous navigation.

Key to its operation is the integrated IR-CUT filter, which mechanically switches between an infrared-blocking filter for accurate daytime color reproduction and an infrared-pass filter for night vision when paired with the included infrared LED board. This switching is controlled via a single GPIO pin, accepting a 3.3V high signal for night mode and a GND low signal for day mode, allowing for automated adaptation to lighting conditions. The module is supplied with a flexible flat cable (FFC) for connection to host processor boards.
