The Grove Sunlight Sensor integrates the SiLabs SI1145, a low-power reflectance-based sensor with a digital I2C interface. It provides calibrated readings for ultraviolet (UV) index, ambient visible light intensity (lux), and infrared (IR) light levels, making it suitable for environmental monitoring applications where spectral light analysis is required. The sensor’s programmable-event interrupt output allows for efficient, event-driven system design.
Housed on a compact Grove-compatible PCB, the module is designed for rapid prototyping and system integration. Its performance is stable across a wide dynamic range of light sources, including direct sunlight, ensuring reliable data for weather stations, smart agriculture systems, and UV exposure monitoring projects.
