This sensor module integrates the MLX90615 infrared thermopile detector and signal conditioning ASIC into a single package, providing a calibrated digital temperature reading via the SMBus (System Management Bus) protocol. The onboard 16-bit ADC and DSP unit enable precise temperature measurements with embedded emissivity compensation, making it suitable for applications requiring non-invasive thermal monitoring.
The module is designed for low-power embedded systems and supports daisy-chaining of up to 127 sensors on a common two-wire bus. Its compact form factor and Grove ecosystem compatibility simplify prototyping and integration into IoT devices, environmental monitoring stations, and industrial control systems.
