Description

The Saier HW21WB-C employs a precision turbine rotor to measure fluid flow. As liquid passes through the sensor body, it spins the turbine, generating a Hall-effect pulse signal proportional to the flow rate. This digital signal can be directly counted by a microcontroller, while an internal conditioning circuit also provides a corresponding analog voltage output.

Built for durability in aqueous environments, the sensor features brass fittings and a sealed housing capable of withstanding pressures up to 1.75 MPa. Its electrical isolation exceeds 100 MΩ, with a dielectric strength of 500V AC, ensuring safe operation in various industrial and commercial fluid handling systems.

Key Features

  • Hall-effect turbine sensor provides stable, repeatable flow measurement.
  • Wide 4.5–18V DC input range supports 5V logic and 12V industrial power rails.
  • Low quiescent current draw (≤15 mA) for energy-efficient continuous monitoring.
  • High-level digital output (≥4.5V) ensures clean signal interfacing with 5V logic.
  • Durable brass construction and internal seals for long-term reliability.
  • Designed for inline installation with standard plumbing thread connections.
  • Suitable for monitoring clean water and other non-corrosive, Particle-free liquids.

Applications

  • Flow rate monitoring in commercial water dispensers, coffee machines, and vending equipment.
  • Liquid consumption tracking in industrial process control and cooling loop systems.
  • Water management and leak detection in home automation and smart irrigation setups.
  • Pump performance and efficiency monitoring in agricultural and HVAC equipment.
  • Prototyping fluid dynamics and flow measurement for educational and R&D projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the output signal type of the HW21WB-C sensor?

The HW21WB-C provides dual output options. It generates a digital Hall-effect pulse signal (frequency proportional to flow rate) for direct microcontroller counting, and it also has an internal signal conditioner that outputs a corresponding analog voltage level, offering flexibility for both digital and analog input systems.

What is the required input voltage and current for this flow sensor?

The sensor operates from a wide DC voltage range of 4.5 to 18 volts, making it compatible with common 5V Arduino boards and 12V industrial power supplies. Its quiescent current draw is very low, at ≤15 mA, ensuring minimal power consumption for continuous monitoring applications.

Can this sensor be used with liquids other than water?

While primarily designed for clean water, it can be used with other non-corrosive, Particle-free liquids compatible with its brass and internal seal materials. For gases or aggressive fluids, consult the manufacturer's material compatibility chart, as improper media can damage the turbine or affect calibration accuracy.

How do I interface this sensor with an Arduino or Raspberry Pi?

For digital interfacing, connect the signal wire to a digital interrupt pin on your Arduino/ESP32 to count pulses and calculate flow rate. For analog reading, connect the output to an analog input pin. Ensure your power supply (5V recommended) is within the 4.5-18V range and provide a stable common ground between the sensor and your controller.
