Description
The RAK1906 is a specialized environmental sensor module for the WisBlock modular IoT system, built around the Bosch BME680 MEMS sensor. It delivers calibrated readings for temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, and volatile organic compounds (VOC) for indoor air quality scoring. The module is engineered for low-power wireless sensor nodes, consuming minimal current to enable multi-year deployments on a single battery when paired with a WisBlock LoRaWAN core.
Its compact, ruggedized PCB design plugs directly into the WisBlock baseboard, providing reliable I2C communication and stable 3.3V power regulation. The sensor data is accessible via the RUI3 API, allowing developers to build custom firmware for The Things Network (TTN), ChirpStack, or other LoRaWAN servers using Arduino or PlatformIO. This module is a foundational component for smart agriculture, industrial environmental monitoring, HVAC control, and weather station projects requiring reliable, long-range telemetry.
