This sensor has a PNP (sourcing) output. Connect the brown wire to your DC positive supply (typically 10-30V DC), the blue wire to DC negative (0V), and the black wire is the switched output. When a target is detected, the black wire will switch to supply voltage. Always connect the load (e.g., a PLC input) between the black output wire and the DC negative.

This sensor detects both ferrous (like steel and iron) and non-ferrous (like aluminum, copper, and brass) metals. The stated 16mm detection distance is typically calibrated for a standard mild steel target. For non-ferrous metals, the effective sensing distance may be reduced, often by 30-50%, depending on the specific material's conductivity and size.

The sensor operates within a typical DC voltage range of 10-30V. It includes integrated protection against reverse polarity (wrong power connection) and output short-circuits, which helps prevent damage from common wiring mistakes and enhances its reliability in industrial environments.

Mount the sensor using its standard M30 x 1.5 metric threads. Drill a corresponding mounting hole and secure it with an M30 nut, ensuring the sensing face is flush and unobstructed. Maintain the recommended lateral and axial clearance around the sensor barrel as specified in the datasheet to avoid false triggers from the mounting bracket or nearby metal.
