The LJ12A3-4-Z/DX is an inductive proximity sensor that operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction. When a metallic object enters its 4mm detection field, it causes a change in the oscillation amplitude within the sensor’s coil, triggering a solid-state switch. This sensor features a Normally-Closed (NC) output, meaning the signal line is closed (conducting) when no target is present and opens when a target is detected within range.
Encased in a robust metal shell with an IP65 ingress protection rating, this sensor is built to withstand industrial environments with exposure to dust, oil, and coolants. Its wide 6–36VDC operating range and 300mA output current make it compatible with a broad array of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), relays, and DC input modules, providing a reliable solution for position sensing, part counting, and end-of-travel detection in automated machinery.
