The KSD301 is a bimetallic disc thermostat, where a temperature-sensitive snap-action mechanism opens or closes an electrical circuit. The ceramic housing provides excellent dielectric strength and thermal conductivity, ensuring the internal bimetallic element responds accurately to ambient temperature changes while isolating the live contacts.
This switch is pre-set to open its Normally Closed (NC) contacts when the surrounding temperature reaches 140°C, breaking the circuit to protect equipment. Upon cooling below the reset temperature, the contacts close again, automatically restoring power. Its high 16A switching capacity eliminates the need for an external relay in many applications, simplifying system design.
