The ISD1820 Voice Recording Module is built around the ISD1820 chip, a dedicated voice recording and playback IC offering true single-chip functionality. It utilizes non-volatile storage, eliminating the need for a separate memory chip or constant power to retain recorded audio. The module features an onboard electret microphone for direct recording and can drive a speaker directly for playback.
With a sampling rate configurable up to 3.2kHz, the module provides natural voice restoration and a total recording duration of up to 20 seconds. Control is managed via its exposed pin headers, allowing integration with microcontrollers like Arduino, ESP32, or STM32 for triggering record, playback, and mode selection functions, making it ideal for embedded audio messaging systems.
