Generic Turbidity Sensor Module for Suspended Solids Detection - 0-4.5V Analog & Digital Output
This turbidity sensor module provides a cost-effective solution for detecting suspended solids in water, compatible with 5V microcontroller systems like Arduino. It outputs both an analog voltage (0-4.5V) proportional to turbidity and a digital trigger signal for threshold-based control.
Features
- Optical sensing principle using infrared transmission for reliable suspended solids detection.
- Dual output interface: 0-4.5V analog signal and configurable digital trigger.
- Wide operating temperature range from -20°C to 90°C for robust environmental use.
- Fast response time under 500ms for real-time water quality monitoring.
- Compact module design (38.6mm x 22.1mm) with standard 3-pin XH-2.54 connector.

This industrial-grade turbidity sensor module operates on the principle of infrared light transmittance and scattering within a liquid medium. An internal infrared emitter and phototransistor pair measures the attenuation of light caused by suspended particles, converting this optical signal into a proportional electrical current. The onboard conditioning circuitry then transforms this current into a stable 0-4.5V analog output suitable for direct ADC sampling by microcontrollers.
For threshold-based control applications, the module provides a digital output that toggles from high to low logic level when the turbidity exceeds a user-defined point, adjustable via an integrated 10K potentiometer. Designed for durability, the sensor supports operation in a broad -20°C to 90°C temperature range and features a high insulation resistance of ≥100MΩ, making it suitable for integration into washing appliances, dishwashers, and industrial water monitoring systems.
