Generic Raindrops Detection Sensor Module - LM393 Comparator, Analog/Digital Output
This rain detection sensor module provides analog and digital TTL outputs for monitoring water droplets, compatible with 3.3V/5V systems like Arduino and Raspberry Pi. It features an LM393 comparator for stable signal conditioning and an adjustable sensitivity potentiometer.
Features
- Dual analog (AO) and digital (DO) TTL output signals for flexible integration.
- LM393 voltage comparator ensures stable, noise-resistant signal conditioning.
- Onboard potentiometer for precise sensitivity adjustment to environmental conditions.
- Wide 3.3V to 5V DC operating voltage range compatible with most microcontrollers.
- High-quality FR-04 PCB construction with pre-drilled mounting holes for durability.

The sensor operates on a resistance-based detection principle. The exposed rain-sensing board features a patterned conductive trace; when water droplets bridge these traces, the surface resistance decreases proportionally to the water coverage. This change in resistance is measured and conditioned by the onboard LM393 comparator IC.
The module outputs both a raw analog voltage signal (AO) for precise intensity measurement and a clean digital TTL signal (DO) that toggles based on a user-defined threshold set by the potentiometer. The digital output provides a direct logic-level signal for triggering events in control systems, while the analog output allows for graduated response in data acquisition setups.
